I/O TERMINAL HW 16 Multitool Programmer
One of the best programmers for automotive electronics.
It can be used to read and write engine control units (ECU), transmission control units (TCU), BSI modules, and BCM modules.
Differences between the HW 11.0 programmer and HW 14.0
The HW 16 is intended for users who work with more than one software, such as SIEMENS, BOSCH, DENSO, etc.
Each of these programs uses a separate SIM card, which must be inserted into the programmer during operation.
The HW 11.0 has a single SIM card slot, while the HW 16 has 6 SIM card slots.
Additionally, the HW 11.0 programmer is sold with a standard OBDII cable, which corresponds to the TYPE1 set of the HW 16.
The capabilities of both programmers are identical, and they work with the same software.
Functionality of the I/O TERMINAL HW 16 programmer
On the back of the programmer you will find:
- A monostable button for switching between SIM cards
- USB port (connection to a computer)
Ad.1) The monostable switch is used to select the SIM card to be used at a given moment. The front display shows the number of the selected card.
Ad.2) The USB port is used to connect the programmer to a computer.
The front display shows the number of the SIM card currently in use, selected via the switch.
The set also includes two stickers to label which SIM card corresponds to each slot.
Differences between HW 11 and HW 16
The differences are minimal, so HW 11 owners do not necessarily need to replace their programmer.
Operations
Most operations are performed via OBD2, through K-line or CAN bus, without opening the ECU.
